Artificial Intelligence Policy
The use of generative AI and AI-assisted technologies policies has been triggered exponentially in research. The following policy has been developed by JCP based on publishing guidelines by Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE):
- Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools such as ChatGPT or large language models (LLMs) cannot be listed as an author or co-author on research publications.
- AI can generate incorrect, incomplete or biased information therefore it should be done under human supervision and precise control. The authors are sole accountable for the contents of the data.
- Authors should reveal the use of AI and AI-assisted technologies in their manuscript and a statement will appear in the acknowledgement section.
- The use of generative AI or AI-assisted tools in the production of graphical artwork is restricted.
- Authors must use AI ethically and should ensure its use without data manipulation, plagiarism, or any form of academic misconduct.
- Editors should be informed about the use of AI tools during the manuscript submission.
- JCP will review the latest development on AI and will adapt the policies accordingly when appropriate.
