Abstract

This study looks into how workplace diversity affects innovation performance in Pakistani commercial banks. In the context of commercial banking, the research seeks to determine organizational elements that support or obstruct the relationship between demographic, cognitive, and functional diversity and innovation processes and outcomes. The interview data was interpreted using thematic analysis, which highlighted important themes including the contribution of diversity to innovative problem-solving, creativity, and teamwork. The results show that workplace diversity has complicated, conditional effects on innovation performance. When paired with inclusive leadership and representational influence, demographic diversity fosters market-centric innovation; yet, this requires shared accountability and integrative structures. In order to translate diversity into innovative outcomes, leadership inclusivity and culture were found to be essential mediating elements. These observations highlight the fact that diversity on its own is insufficient and that how it is integrated and handled within institutional frameworks determines its influence.
